Story Submission Tips

We here at BourbonStreet Stories are very happy to receive the stories that are sent into us every day. So to help you with the writing of your story we have put together a few tips that will make your story more interesting to the reader.

As you know the true events that some one lives through are the most interesting to people. Why is this? Well the fact that it is a true story means that it is something that could happen to any one. Which opens up a whole new area of possibilities.

Over the last year or so we have received countless numbers of stories they range from being fantastic to well need work I guess would be the best way to put it. It is your story so you would want it to be the best that you can make it. Here are a few tips to help you along in writing your story.

1.. Story telling has been around for generations and will be around for generations to come. When You write your story write it as though you are telling some one about it for the first time. It is said that a true story is the best. And that the first 10 seconds of the story will either hook the reader to read more or lose the reader and they will move on.

2..Take some time to organize your story in the order of events that took place. Be specific on where it took place. And the feelings that you felt at the time it took place once more realize that the person reading your story is more than likely some one that is reading it for the first time. They don’t know what your thoughts were at the time this took place. They don’t know where you lived or where you were at when this happened. Explain it in detail but keep it with in the story context its self.

3..Be sure to make your story more than one paragraph too short then people will not read it. Try and keep the story to at least 3 or more Paragraphs. This way you can write the story in a way to provide more information to the reader. And describe the events in detail as they unfolded. This also allows you to be able to follow the 3 step rule to story writing that is to include an Opening a Body and a Ending. Just like letter writing.

4..Now one of the things we here at Borubonstreet Stories do is to review each story. We do edit grammar and spelling at least my editor does. To make her life a tad easy we ask that you review Your story before submitting it and correcting any grammar or spelling you might see that needs to be corrected. This just makes life a bit easier for her and gets your story published online much faster.

5..A Tip we can offer here is to write your story in a Word processor first allow that program to correct your work for you. Then just do a copy past into the submission form on our site and submit it. It is much faster that way. Now if you don’t have a word processor then use your Email Client just open up a new message write your story in the new message area and use your email client to check spelling and grammar. Then just copy past that into the submission form.

Once we receive your story we have a staff that reviews the story for content and then submits it to our Editor and me for finale inclusion into the site. We are proud to be able to provide this service it is very interesting to read all the accounts that folks have had. It is also interesting to see how many have had experiences over the years. It is not just a few but a lot of people have been touched by the other side in one way or another.

We hope that these tips have helped you out in formulating your story to submit to us. I am sure we may have missed a few things if you know of any let us know we will include it in our tips section. Thanks For being a BourbonStreet Stories visitor and story submitter..
