Wagon Ghost
(NAME) Tina
(City) Dallas
(State/Country) Georgia
(Date) 1983
(True Story) Yes

My parents had bought a house in their home town and we were very excited to be moving back near our family. During the summer I would stay up late and watch videos on my television in my room.

One night when the house was completely quiet I was watching television and I heard a noise like a loud stagecoach. Something you would hear on a movie about the wagon trains or a period piece from the 1800's. I thought I had left the TV on downstairs, so I went down the stairs and realized I didn’t. The noise was still there. For some reason, I didn't really think of it at the time as being strange.

I never forgot that noise. It was very clear. My first spring in that house, we lived across from a kudzu patch. (if you grow up in the south you know what it is) It caught on fire, and the next day we were waiting on the bus to pick us up, I looked over at the newly uncovered trench the fire had destroyed the growth and right in front of the house was a wagon wheel! Still preserved the fire hadn't touched it.

The memory of the sounds I heard that previous summer came rushing back to me. I have done some research of the area where I lived and there were quite a few civil war battles fought near our property and in our small town. I now believe that I did hear wagons. I have never heard those sounds again. My mom claims that our house is haunted. I believe her.
